About Us
 
 Carmella purchased Casa Italiana in July, 2007. It's a first for Carmella, since she's a registered nurse with numerous certifications and her first career is working in the Cardiac Cath Lab at Manatee Memorial Hospital. Her family, however, has extensive experience in the food and beverage business. Ralph, her son, has worked in restaurants on every level since 1984. Deborah, her sister, has worked in the food industry since 1989. Tim, family friend, has been involved with cooking and serving for over 25 years. 
 
Carmella's Casa Italiana is a small family owned & operated restaurant & pizzeria offering authentic Italian food & New York style pizza. The atmosphere is casual & the prices are affordable.  It is our mission to provide world-class customer service and to prepare and serve the highest quality food at affordable prices whether it be for dine in, take out, delivery, or catering. We strive for fidelity, not convenience, to be valuable and unique.

Customer Care Standards
  To support our vision, we have written customer care standards, and we train our employees to adhere to them every working hour. Strong, open communication of customer care standards sets expectations and encourages improvement. Each set of standards creates a chain of behavior linking our customers to our vision, mission, and values to all of us.

 

Our destination is customer loyalty…our vehicle is customer care standards. We developed a set of customer care standards for both internal and external customers that we communicate, practice and constantly improve. They help us pinpoint customer care problems before customers notice.

 

Standards also empower our employees to accomplish our customer care vision of “Exceed the Expected”. Creating standards does not eliminate innovation…it allows employees to focus it. Real customer service and value grows when employees focus on everything they can add above and around the existing customer care standards for all areas.

 

11 major principles guide the individual standards for each area of Carmella’s Casa Italiana:

  • We will treat all customers with respect, courtesy, and urgency.
  • We will aim to answer all phone calls within 20 seconds.
  • We will reply to all written correspondence within 15 days.
  • We will reply to all email within 24 hours.
  • We will respond to all voice mail messages within 24 hours.
  • We will greet customers within 3 minutes of arrival in the restaurant.
  • We will survey for customer service feedback at least bi-annually.
  • We will deliver the highest quality products and services.

  • We will provide timely and accurate documentation.

  • We will comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Eggplant Rollatini...add flair and pair it with a glass of Montepulciano or Chianti.     Side order of fettuccine with marinara sauce. We also have spaghetti, penne, and linguine.

Everything we serve is individually prepared and made fresh to order. We are not a chain or a franchise. Essentially, this means food is not going to appear at your table, on the counter, or at your doorstep in 5 or 10 minutes. This is not fast food. We take pride in all our dishes and this is readily apparent in the outstanding flavor and taste of everything that leaves the kitchen. Expect nothing less than fantastic food and expert, friendly customer service.
 
Got a group to feed? These are busy times, and no one understands that better than we do. When planning your next party, whether it be a casual lunch and gathering of friends or something more involved, we will cater all your functions, whether small or large. Your time is important and possibly limited. While you organize the logistics, leave the cooking to us. Ralph and Deborah are eager to work with you to establish pricing and plan the menu. At your discretion, we can deliver the food for the event or you can pick it up. Let us know your preferences, and we will do everything in our power to save you any hassles and ensure the food is ready when you are. Additionally, we provide a 120% guarantee that you will not run out of food at your catered function.
 
 
Are We in a Recession? 
 
This is a difficult time for the restaurant business. The cost of flour and cheese is sky-rocketing to match the extremely high cost of gas. This impacts on us and on you, the consumer.
 
We are interested in keeping down the cost of dining out because we don't want to lose you as a customer. Indeed, we need you to stay in business. 
 
Many of our meals can be served in half portions and the plate charge to split a meal is only $1.00. If salads are your weakness, you can dress up a garden salad (or indeed any salad) by adding Feta cheese for $1.50. 
 
If you don't want to drive to Casa Italiana, for a small delivery fee, we will bring the food to you.
 
The drivers are always eagerly waiting in the wings to bring the food to you!

We have 7 tables and 4 seats at the counter. With a little rearranging, we can seat 5 or 6 at a table. For larger parties, we can group tables together, and we have been known to mesh three tables together. High chairs and booster seats are available for the kids. Also, a Children's Menu. We consider Table #7 to be the 'lovers' table.'  You'll have to sit there to understand why. There are 2 benches out front that have seen their better days. Regardless, it's the Waiting Area, and if you must, the Smoking Area. We used to have a large cigarette receptacle, but it was stolen. Whatever! No jackets required either in the Smoking Area or in the Casa. We play Italian music softly in the background. Somehow, when no one is paying attention, Nickelback or Amy Winehouse can be heard...but those times are extremely rare. And sometimes the guys put on the TV for sports...it's all good!

My husband and I love this restaurant; I have tried pretty much everything in the menu and have always been delighted with the food. The service is nice and even though it is a pizzeria, the ambiance is very pleasant. We go there at least twice a month.

Also known as "Carmella's Casa Italiana" - I love this place - I can not get enough of their spaghetti! What's the secret recipe??? Family owned and they make you feel welcome. Thanks Carrie, Deb, and Tim for some wonderful evenings! And the portions are plentiful! I split a meal the second time there, but have decided that I'd rather have the left-overs, too! I am definately recommending this and looking for others to return with me! I travel up from Sarasota to enjoy it! Take time to check out their website! They've done some great work on it and there is a super article about supporting your local restaurants in today's economy....

Great Pizza. Right up there locally with Omaha's at the beach and Scillianos on US41, my favorites. Since the management changed the establishment totally went up hill. Cute little place with smiling friendly staff, and Delicious (just like New York) pizza. Give it a try and then check out the thrift shop a few doors down.

Right down the street from my house, I've past this place a thousand times....tried it out for the first time last weekend. Maybe 10 tables inside, sounded like (from the phone ringing constantly) that they do one heck of a delivery/pickup business. My husband and I tried the spaghetti and meatsauce. It came with garlic bread and a fresh salad. The creamy italian dressing was a bit too tart for us but that's just a preference thing. The vegetables were very fresh and crisp and probably the best taste of tomato in a very long time. The spaghetti and meatsauce portion was huge, HOT (a good thing), and delish! Came with a basket of hot garlic bread. The entire meal was really good and we will return.

This restaurant is now owned and operated by females. I believe the food is good and service accurate. I eat here several times a month and my food is correct and very good.

Eat in -- if you can find room, or carry out. A small family pizza spot in a strip mall, but ohh the pizza is good. Formerly managed by a 'soup nazi' character who made watching the process quite interesting -- he's gone, but the pizza and other offerings are still very good.

Great Pizza especially if you are from New York City. Casa Italiana has that special taste New Yorkers yearn for. Great Pizza Great Prices. Cute little restaurant.

Great Family Dining
This is a great place to take your family. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the menu is wide in variety, so everyone is sure to find something new to try!
